The department of Information Management and Information System(IM&IS) will allow students to lay solid theoretical foundation on management, economics and computer science, get the hang of computer application, quantitative analysis, information system development and big data analysis, demonstrate both humanity and scientific principles, both practical and innovative abilities, and develop a global vision as highly competent and inter-disciplinary talents. Graduates will be ready to do work such as planning, building and operating information system, as well as developing and utilizing information and big data resources in Party and government organizations of all levels, businesses, financial institutions, management consultancies, and research institutions.
Currently there are 1 full professor, 4 associate professors and 6 lecturers in the department. The department aims at equipping the students with a solid foundation in mathematics and proficient computer skills. Students are expected to acquire broad knowledge of management and systematic skills in the application and management of information systems.
Students majoring in IM&IS are expected to build solid mathematical foundation and acquire systematic knowledge in mathematical analysis, applied statistics and operations research; acquire proficient computer skills including the development and application of computer hardware and software, database, telecommunication networks, and e-commerce technology; acquire broad knowledge of modern business administration, including business strategy, production and operations management, marketing, finance and accounting; attain systematic understanding of IS applications and management, including management information systems, system analysis and design, information resources management, ERP, e-commerce, system models and simulation, business intelligence, and strategic plan and implementation of information systems.
